The Mustang nameplate and badge reverberates throughout automobile history ever since the model first appeared in the mid-60s, and it continues to this very day, depicting power, fierceness, and appealing design. While some will argue until they're blue in the face that the Mustang is a pony car and not a muscle car, it's still practically impossible to discuss muscle cars without someone mentioning the Mustang. The model burst into the spotlight in the mid-sixties and early seventies, dominating racing competitions worldwide.Just like other car manufacturers, Ford evolved over time, updating the Mustang's design and technology while discarding unnecessary things, often with the help of Shelby. To celebrate its 60th year in automobile history, here at Stuttaford Van Lines we are looking at the best Mustang models made: 1965 Shelby GT3501967 Shelby GT5001968 Ford Mustang California Special1969 Ford Mustang Boss 4291971 Ford Mustang Mach 12000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca2016 Shelby GT3502020 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500Ford Mustang Mach 1While we might not look good in red – we definitely know about transporting or storing you vehicle (Mustang’s included), safely. https://lnkd.in/dRpprY_Q#SVL #moving #mustang #wheelswednesday #cartransportation #transportation #logistics #storage #storagefacilities #SUVs #bakkies #moving #movinghouse #transferofvehicles #carstorage #movingservices #movingsolutions #movingpartner #movingcompany #storeit #store #musclecars #vintagecars #classicars #carlovers #60years #ford

🐍1965 Shelby Cobra 427 RoadsterThe Shelby Roadster is arguably the most famous and relevant of all automotive legends. In 1962, the Shelby Cobra (or AC Cobra, in the UK) made its historic debut as a collaboration between Ford and British car manufacturer AC with the release of the first production Cobra known as the CSX2001/Mark I.In the early 1960s, Ford strove to build a car that would eclipse the Chevrolet Corvette as America's most important sports car. The American automaker was well prepared to take on their local rival and had already produced the engine they would take into battle – a new lightweight, thin-walled, small-block 3.6L V8. However, they still needed a chassis to go with the power plant. Here was the charismatic Carroll Shelby – backed financially by Ford for this venture – who recognized the racing success of the AC Ace in the late 1950s and would eventually negotiate a deal with the British who would make a chassis based on the Ace, what Ford would do then use its nascent V8 engine to breathe life into it.Although the Ace is an aging design nearing the end of its life cycle, its lightweight structure would become the perfect fit to create one of the greatest American sports cars ever made over the next few years. Thus, the Shelby Cobra was born; and the rest, as they say, is history.#Anis_Maaouia

Need Leads? / Yesterday’s comments of note: A few of the comments that stood out to us yesterday: "Impressive and expensive build. Very clean and well executed.Love everything about it. For all you grey haired guys, do you remember the Mosselman turbo kits that were offered for the original M104? Those were certainly awesome, but a 2JZ Supra engine is even more awesomer!!" 9 SlowNRusty commented on No Reserve: 2JZ-GTE-Powered 1988 Mercedes-Benz 300CE 6-Speed "No worries, it will be driven." 9 conurtrol commented on Modified 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe 6-Speed "So cool to see this one here - so very few of these have survived in nice condition.A friend had one of these with the 300 six and 4 speed when we were kids. It didn't go anywhere fast but it did go about anywhere.GLWTA!" 8 Todd_Z. commented on 1981 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT 4x4 4-Speed "Wow! When these came out in the 1980s, they were so cool! I would have given anything to have one of these back in the day, but at the time, I didn't have two nickels to rub together. This car still looks relevant because it was such a great design originally. GLWTA." 8 porkchopious commented on 1984 Audi 4000S Quattro 5-Speed "@Vizsla The story of how this motor wound up in these cars certainly is interesting, and it also paved the way for the Shelby cars. Most enthusiasts do know that this cross-pushrod, hemispherical combustion chamber inline 6 was first used in the pre-war BMW 328. But, many don't know it became a "Bristol" engine when awarded to them as war reparations after the second world war. Or, that because they were simply awarded as reparations, there came a time when the supply ran out. It was that…" 7 aleventhal commented on 1956 AC Ace-Bristol Roadster http://dlvr.it/T8BFTB Bringatrailer.com #carsofinstagram #carporn #classiccar

Ever since its introduction in 1964, the Ford Mustang has existed in a league of its own. It was created as a small, sporty and affordable muscle car (ushering in what was nicknamed the pony car segment) and has exploded with its popularity exceeding the brand's every expectation. For the past six decades, the pony car has been the centre of muscle car culture. While the Mustang has changed a lot over the years, if there is one thing that has stayed the same, it’s that they’re downright cool. Still, some Mustangs were cooler than others, either because they were rare and special or simply because they were pure performance beasts. This #fordmustangday we’ve rounded up some of the favourites that stood out from the crowd and still evoke nothing but awe and respect: 1965 Shelby GT350 2012 Mustang Boss 3021967 Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" 1968 Ford Mustang 428 Cobra Jet2021 Mustang GT2013 Shelby GT5001964 ½ Mustang2000 SVT Cobra R 2016 Shelby GT350R1969 Boss 429 We might not be in the same league as the ‘Stang, but picking Pickfords as your moving partner will always have a factor of cool to it! https://lnkd.in/g9ckYZm#pickpickfords #moving #mustang #vehicletransfers #storage #movers #internationalmoving #localmoving #packing #movinghouse #transportation #movingcompany #movingservices #fordmustang #carstorage #nationalmoving #householdmovers #pickfords #relocations #movingpartner #householdmoving #stang

I was a young kid that distributed auto parts and supplies in Los Angeles in the days when Vector had the W8 and a warehouse in Wilmington. I visited the shop about once a month for a period of time and got to see and sit in a couple cars (maybe they were the same one painted different colors, who knows). I'm surprised that only one person even mentioned that this was intended to replace the Mustang as Ford was attempting to move everything to FWD. Ford was really surprised at the backlash the Mustang community let out over the plan to make the Mustang FWD (understatement). This left Ford in a bit of a bind because the Probe at that point didn't sit well within their lineup along with the…" 7 CFD commented on No Reserve: 7k-Mile 1993 Ford Probe GT http://dlvr.it/T5KglF Bringatrailer.com #carsofinstagram #carporn #classiccar

We're going to have a little fun this Friday by celebrating the Muscle Car! 💪 *cue Beach Boys music*Muscle cars are basically American-made, affordable 2 door coupes featuring powerful V8 engines with lots of horses. Their glory days are from the 1960s-70s, though their foundation may have been set as early as the 1920s when the Prohibition Era had moonshiners and bootleggers modifying their cars to outrun the police. Prohibition ended in the 1940s, but these former bootleggers may have by then already fallen in love with their fast cars! The popularity of the drag strip took off in the early 1950s, setting the stage for the muscle car to take off as well. The first "muscle car" is the 1948 Oldsmobile Rocket 88, which featured a large engine with a light body. With car enthusiasts racing each other at the drags, car manufacturers became increasingly inspired to engineer faster and faster cars. The term "muscle car" was likely coined by Pontiac with their 1964 GTO. Notable muscle cars were the Shelby Cobra and Plymouth Road Runner. In 1974, the US oil crisis and federal regulations put a halt to the "muscle car wars" as automobile makers couldn't make the large, roaring engines compliant. However, the spirit of the muscle car still lives on today in cars like the Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro, and Chevrolet Corvette. Now we've got to ask - what's your favorite muscle car? 🤔#Gearhead #CarHistory #MuscleCar #AutoShop #MedfordOregon
